Hey there, App Champs!
I like to consider myself a well traveled man and airport expert, I even moved my life half way across the world.
But even those who have spent too many hours waiting at gates and maneuvering around airports can use some help. That’s why I got excited when I recently discovered GateGuru.
The GateGuru is a simple yet extremely beneficial top app for both frequent travelers or those who are unfamiliar with airports.
You start on the home screen and choose your flight, either by flight number or by information such as departing and arriving airports. The app then gives you all the day of information you need about your flight; whether the flight is delayed, what gate you’re departing from, at which terminal you will arrive, estimated time of take-off, etc.
GateGuru then supplies you with information about the airports you will be using. You can search information such as where to eat (and it will sort the choices by gates), what shops are available and even provides maps of some of the airports.
A great component of the app is the tips section. People who use GateGuru can sign in and give others tips about the airports they’ve flown through. Travelers give advice about waiting times and anything they may have liked or disliked about the airport.
The app also links you to different companies to book last minute rental cars at your destination.
You can search information about any airport, which can help travelers decide which airport they may want to fly to or from (in cases such as New York where you have several airport options).
A fun thing about GateGuru is it keeps track of your different journeys, and shows you your travel stats. How many airports you’ve flown through, how many miles you’ve flown and other interesting stats about your traveling.
GateGuru is a very useful app to have with you as your flight approaches. It can help you plan your travel day, manager several flights and even find something to do or eat while waiting for take-off.
The Good: Great way to keep track of all your traveling plans and helps you keep up to date on all the flight information.
The Bad: It is missing some maps and information about bigger airports that you can get lost in.
The Cost: Nada!
